Project Manager – Commercial Interior Construction
Location: Richmond, VA
Compensation: $110,000 – $145,000 + Bonus + Benefits
About the Opportunity
Lingo Staffing is seeking an experienced Project Manager for a well-established and growing commercial interiors contractor in Richmond, VA
This role is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of commercial interior construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. The ideal candidate will bring strong operational leadership, financial oversight, a knowledge of estimating, and scheduling experience within drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, and interior systems construction.
The company would strongly prefer someone with prior experience in the commercial interiors / drywall industry, and estimating experience is highly valued.
Projects include commercial office, healthcare, multifamily, institutional, retail, hospitality, and government work throughout Virginia and the surrounding region.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of commercial interior construction projects from preconstruction through completion
- Lead and support project teams including assistant project managers, project engineers, superintendents, and field personnel
- Maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasting, and overall financial performance
- Coordinate with owners, architects, subcontractors, vendors, and internal operations teams
- Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, and schedules to ensure accurate project execution
- Perform constructability reviews and assist with project coordination efforts
- Manage project buyout, subcontractor negotiations, procurement, and change orders
- Develop and maintain internal budgets, billing projections, and cost tracking reports
- Prepare monthly project reporting including schedule updates, cash flow, safety, and profitability analysis
- Support preconstruction planning and scheduling activities
- Provide leadership in the areas of safety, quality, communication, and overall jobsite execution
- Assist with contingency planning, risk management, and problem resolution throughout project lifecycle
- Conduct regular meetings with foremen, superintendents, and senior leadership to review project status and performance
Qualifications
- Prior experience within the commercial drywall / interior systems industry strongly preferred
- Experience managing commercial construction projects involving:
- Drywall
- Metal stud framing
- Cold-formed metal framing (CFMF)
- Acoustical ceilings (ACT)
- Interior finishes
- Estimating or preconstruction experience is highly valued
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
- Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, and project teams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
